One account, separate branded support for every brand.
Zoho Desk can run support for several brands, product lines or regions from one account while customers see a separate, branded experience for each. Two features make this work: departments, which separate your support operations behind the scenes, and multi-brand help centers, which give each brand its own customer-facing portal. This guide walks through planning and setting up both. It is part of our Zoho Desk guide.
Yes, one Zoho Desk account can support multiple brands. Create a department for each brand, then enable multi-brand support and add a help center for each department. Each brand can have its own channels, SLAs, notifications, knowledge base, branding and mapped domain, while agents and reporting stay in one place.
| Feature | What it separates | Who notices |
|---|---|---|
| Departments | Channels, SLAs, notifications, agents and knowledge base articles | Your team: tickets, rules and reports split by brand |
| Multi-brand help centers | The customer portal: logo, colors, layout, access and domain | Your customers: each brand looks like its own support site |
You need departments first. By default a Zoho Desk account has one help center no matter how many departments you create, and multi-brand support is what adds a separate help center per department.
Decide how support should split before you touch settings. The most common structures are by brand, by product line, by region or language, and by customer tier. Answer these questions for each proposed department:
If the answer to the last question is only a different team, departments alone may be enough and you can skip multi-brand help centers.
In Zoho Desk Setup, add one department per brand or line. For each department, configure:
A clear name, matching how your team and customers refer to the brand.
Support channels, starting with the brand's own support email address.
Agents can belong to one department or several.
Business hours and holidays, if they differ from the main team.
SLA policies, assignment rules and notification templates for that brand.
Once the departments exist, enable multi-brand customer support in the Help Center settings and add a help center for each department that needs its own portal. Zoho's multi-brand support documentation covers the exact screens. For each brand's help center you can set the logo, colors, layout and permissions, and map it to the brand's own domain, such as support.yourbrand.com.
When you enable multi-brand support, you choose how customer accounts work across your help centers:
| Model | How it works | Good fit when |
|---|---|---|
| Common user base | A customer registered with one brand can sign in to all of your help centers | Brands share customers and you do not mind them seeing the connection |
| Unique user base | Customers can only access the help center they registered for or were invited to; visiting another brand means registering again | Brands are marketed separately and should stay independent |
Zoho requires at least two brand help centers to be configured before you can use the unique user base model. If you later want to switch multi-brand off, the brand help centers have to be deleted first, so treat this as a deliberate decision.
Customers judge each brand by the emails they receive, so give every department its own notification templates written in that brand's voice and sent from its address. Review assignment rules so tickets reach the right brand team, and confirm each department has the right SLA policy. Our guides to Zoho Desk automation and SLA management cover both in detail.
Agents who belong to several departments see tickets from all of them in one queue and can filter by department when they want to focus. Dedicated agents see only their own department. Mixing the two works well: dedicated agents for your highest-volume brand, and a small shared group covering the smaller brands between them.
Zoho Desk reports can be filtered by department, so you can compare ticket volume, first response time and SLA compliance brand by brand. For a combined view alongside sales or finance data, connect Zoho Desk to Zoho Analytics and build one dashboard that covers every brand.
