The market leader against a far cheaper rival. Here is how they compare.
DocuSign is the best-known name in electronic signatures. Zoho Sign is the option built into the Zoho ecosystem, and it costs a fraction as much. Both produce legally binding signatures with audit trails, and both handle templates, reminders and signing order. The real differences are price, how many documents you can send and how each fits with your other systems. This comparison sets them side by side and gives a clear recommendation by situation. It is part of our Zoho Sign guide.
Choose Zoho Sign if you use Zoho CRM or Zoho One, send more than a handful of documents per user, or want lower costs: paid plans start at $10 per user per month with 25 envelopes per user each month, and Professional at $16 has unlimited envelopes. Choose DocuSign if you need its very broad integration catalog or your partners expect it, and budget for higher prices and annual envelope caps.

DocuSign raised its list prices in 2026; the figures above reflect published annual prices as reported mid-2026. Always confirm on Zoho Sign pricing and DocuSign pricing before deciding.
Price per user only tells half the story. DocuSign's Standard and Business Pro plans include 100 envelopes per user per year, which works out to roughly 8 per month, and a busy quarter can use most of a year's allowance. Zoho Sign's Standard plan includes 25 envelopes per user every month, and its Professional and Enterprise plans have unlimited envelopes. For teams that send contracts, offers or approvals regularly, this difference matters more than the headline price.
| Zoho Sign Professional | DocuSign Standard | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | 5 x $16 = $80 per month | 5 x $30 = $150 per month |
| Yearly cost | $960 | $1,800 |
| Envelopes | Unlimited | 500 per year across the team |
Using published annual prices, Zoho Sign Professional costs about half as much as DocuSign Standard for the same team and removes the envelope cap. For businesses already on Zoho One, Zoho Sign adds no extra cost at all.
Both tools cover the essentials: templates, signing order, reminders, expiry dates, in-person signing, signer authentication and tamper-evident audit trails. DocuSign's higher plans add features such as PowerForms, payment collection and advanced fields, and its Maestro workflow tools target complex agreement processes. Zoho Sign's higher plans add bulk send, sign forms, branding, SSO and API access. For most small and mid-sized businesses, both cover everything they need day to day.
DocuSign's strength is breadth: it connects to a very large number of third-party apps and is familiar to many partners and customers. Zoho Sign's strength is depth inside Zoho: contracts go out from Zoho CRM records, form submissions from Zoho Forms become signable documents and status flows back without connectors. If your business runs on Zoho, Zoho Sign fits naturally; if you depend on many non-Zoho systems, DocuSign may need fewer workarounds. Teams using PandaDoc for proposals can also compare our guide to the Zoho CRM PandaDoc integration.
Both produce electronic signatures that are legally recognized for most business documents in many countries, including under the ESIGN Act and UETA in the US, and both provide audit trails and tamper-evident sealing. Neither choice changes which documents legally require wet signatures in your jurisdiction, so check with your legal adviser for exceptions.
DocuSign's signing experience is widely recognized, which can reassure recipients unfamiliar with e-signatures. Zoho Sign's interface follows the style of other Zoho apps and is quick to learn. For recipients, both work the same way: open the link, review and sign on any device without an account.
DocuSign earns its price in a few situations: when your customers, partners or regulators expect DocuSign specifically, when you need payment collection inside the signing flow, or when you run complex, multi-party agreement processes and want DocuSign's workflow tools. Large enterprises with existing DocuSign contracts and integrations may also find switching costs outweigh the savings. For most small and mid-sized businesses, none of these apply.
Both vendors offer support that improves on higher plans. Before committing, check contract length, how easily you can change the number of users, and what happens if you exceed envelope limits. With DocuSign's annual envelope allowance, ask how overages are charged; with Zoho Sign, check whether your volume fits Standard or justifies Professional's unlimited envelopes.
