When you promote a webinar, you’re usually sharing the registration link in multiple places — your website, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, email campaigns, and more.
But here’s the big question:
Which promotion is actually working?
If you’re not tracking your webinar lead sources properly, you’re guessing. And in marketing, guessing costs money.
In this lesson, we’re going to walk through how to track webinar promotions by source using Zoho Webinar — so you can clearly see:
How many people clicked your link
Where they came from
How many actually registered
Which channels are worth scaling
Let’s say you promote your webinar in three places:
Your website
TikTok
Without tracking, you’ll only see total registrations.
With proper tracking, you’ll see:
Website → 120 clicks → 40 registrations
Facebook → 300 clicks → 15 registrations
TikTok → 80 clicks → 25 registrations
Now you know exactly where to invest more effort.
This is how you turn webinars into predictable lead generation machines.
Inside Zoho Webinar:
Open your webinar (for example, the one created in a previous lesson).
Click on the Promote section.
Scroll to the bottom.
Here you’ll see existing lead sources or you can click “Add Source” to create new ones.
For example, you can create three sources:
Website
TikTok
Each lead source generates a dedicated tracking URL.
This is the key.
Instead of using one generic registration link everywhere, you use a unique link per platform.
Let’s say you want to promote the webinar on your website.
Copy the dedicated URL generated for the “Website” source.
Go to your website editor (for example, Zoho Sites).
Add a text element like:
“Join Our Webinar”
Instead of linking to a page, choose Web URL.
Paste the dedicated tracking link.
Publish the page.
Now when someone clicks “Join Our Webinar,” they’ll go to the registration page — and Zoho will record that visit under the Website lead source.
After publishing:
Click the link yourself to test it.
Refresh the Promote section in Zoho Webinar.
You’ll immediately see the click count increase for that specific source.
This gives you instant visibility into:
How many people are clicking
Which platforms are driving traffic
Registrations are also tracked per source.
Important note:
Sometimes registration data takes 30 minutes to an hour to update. If you don’t see conversions immediately, don’t worry — the system is working.
Once updated, you’ll be able to see:
Total clicks per source
Total registrations per source
Conversion performance by channel
This simple tracking setup gives you powerful insights:
No more guessing which channel is working.
If TikTok converts better than Facebook, you shift resources accordingly.
Different audiences behave differently:
Website visitors may already know you.
Social media audiences may be colder.
YouTube viewers may be more engaged.
Now you can tailor your messaging and measure the results properly.
Here’s the recommended approach:
Create a separate lead source for every platform.
Use only the dedicated tracking link for that channel.
Never reuse the same registration link everywhere.
The more granular your tracking, the smarter your decisions.
Tracking webinar promotions by lead source inside Zoho Webinar is simple — but extremely powerful.
Instead of just asking:
“How many people registered?”
You’ll start asking:
“Where are my best registrations coming from?”
That shift alone can dramatically improve your webinar ROI.
If you’re running webinars without tracking sources, you’re leaving optimization — and revenue — on the table.
Start tracking every promotion. Measure clicks. Measure conversions. Then scale what works.
